Jersey City’s Liberty Humane Society (LHS) is making preparations today to begin evacuating the animals at the shelter tomorrow in advance of Hurricane Irene’s arrival here Sunday.
The shelter is looking for volunteers to help get the animals out of town safely. A shelter representative on Twitter promised more details later today, but so far we know that LHS is looking for on-site volunteers at 11 am tomorrow to get supplies ready and transport animals to higher ground. The shelter is also looking for donations of any new or used tarps.
Just FYI if anyone out there can help the fuzzy creatures!
!!! I’m totally doing this.
